Stranger 4th of July
I’m a huge nerd. A bit of a weird one at that. So when I planned this fun, summer shoot I grabbed from some of my favorite movies and tv shows. Mainly the Netflix hit, Stranger Things. I didn’t expect it to reach this point!
For inspiration, anything with an 80’s theme played in my head as I tried to put together a story that was feasible in my time frame and more importantly, my budget. As the bikes, walkie talkies, and baseball bats began to pile up on my kitchen table, the vision became alive. It was spooky, 80’s, just what I was looking for.
Thankfully, when I reached out for some models willing to go down my crazy rabbit hole, there was a good turn out. The parents of these wonderful kids went above and beyond. Helping with wardrobe, ideas, as well as driving around town to locations on a miserable 95º Saturday. Which only speaks volumes for the patience my models endured. Even with taking a/c breaks in the vehicles and staying hydrated, I couldn’t help but feel awful for choosing one of the hottest days of the summer to visit the upside down.
I couldn’t be more pleased with the final results. I just hope my vision is read and that the adventures are enjoyed.
As always, stay magical and have a happy 4th of July!
